My Only Way is Through Love

A woman with curly hair, wearing a colorful dress and jewelry, sits cross-legged on the floor with her right hand on her chest and her left hand on her abdomen, in front of a large gong. She appears to be engaged in a meditative or spiritual practice, with her eyes closed and a serene expression.

Healing through creativity, connection, and self-discovery

Hi, I’m Ida García, a bilingual Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, and artist based in New York City. I offer a compassionate, person-centered approach to therapy for adults and adolescents who may be navigating anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationships, identity, or experiences that have left them feeling disconnected from themselves.

I believe therapy doesn't always have to happen through words. Sometimes we need to move, create, imagine, play, tell stories, or simply have the space to slow down and listen to what is happening within us. My work integrates Creative Arts Therapy, mindfulness, movement, storytelling, and other experiential practices alongside conversation and traditional therapeutic approaches.

As a Cuban-born, Afro-Latina therapist and artist, I bring an awareness of the ways culture, identity, belonging, relationships, and our personal histories shape how we experience ourselves and the world around us. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported—and where your individuality, creativity, and lived experience are honored.

Therapy with me is collaborative. I don't believe there is one way to heal or that you need to arrive knowing exactly what you need. We begin where you are and work with what you feel ready and willing to explore.

Whether we are talking, creating, moving, reflecting, or simply sitting with an experience, my intention is to help you reconnect with yourself, discover new possibilities, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and meaningful to you.

You don't have to have all the answers before you begin. We can discover what comes next together. ‍
